The Annual Greer Freedom Blast will be a blast for all ages. The festival will be host to one of the biggest fireworks shows in the state of South Carolina. The main focus of the event will be to honor the men and women who are serving and have served our country. Accompanying the fireworks the festival will host a plethora of military vehicles on display, festival food, live music, and children’s activities. It is a great time for the whole city to come together to have some fun and celebrate some of America’s heroes.

Greer is home to two very nice golf courses, Greer Golf and Country Club and the very prestigious Thornblade Country Club. Greer being the one public out of the two is a very reasonably priced well kept golf course. Not to mention home to one of Greer’s best places to eat in Martha’s kitchen and a great staff. You can spend the day on the course, grab a bite to eat from Martha and then jump in the pool to cool off. Thornblade, home to the BMW Charity Pro-Am, is private on the other hand but if you know someone who is a member it is definitely a must play!
Greer is home to some great homemade ice cream shops. Dillards a Greer staple since 1996, has arguably the best ice cream out there. The ice cream is made by a small farm in North Carolina with fresh dairy and Carolina fruits and only sold at Dillards and one other location. If you show up during the summer expect to wait in line because it is definitely a local favorite. A recent addition to the Greer scene is Abbots, a homemade custard shop that will stun you with its smooth texture and profound flavor. The custard along with the waffle cones you can choose to use are made fresh daily by some of the best staff around. You can’t go wrong with either choice.
